Search the FAQ for entries containing:
An unknown error or exception reported by applications during network communication. In rare cases, the application communication may be within the same host, yet trouble could still be reported as involving the network since part of the network stack is involved.
These three simple words — general, network, error — are notorously behind the blame-game more than any other utterance that’s ever been seen in a dialog box that purported to be helpful.
Often followed by “Check your network documentation.” Now, why didn’t I think of that?
